Boys' WaPo Opens Tsai Fieldhouse with a Win

By William Huang ‘24

Thanks to excellent teamwork and skillful sportsmanship, the boys’ Big Red water polo team kicked off its season with an outstanding 22-8 victory against Malvern Prep on September 8. This game marked the first event in the recently built Tsai Field House.

According to Toby Richmond ‘24, who has been playing water polo for 12 years, “Our team has really made the Field House our home.” He added, “I was anxious because this was the first time playing another school in the new pool, but as the match went on, I got more comfortable and gained my confidence back.”

Richmond ‘24 attributes his team’s success to good instruction and good team work. “[Program Director Misha Klochkov’s] advice really led us to victory, we practiced what he told us to focus on and ended up doing really well. [...] Our team work was spot on, too.” At the end of the game, the team was able to get new players into the pool and give them an opportunity to play the game. All in all, this game was the best start to the year anyone could ask for!”
