Gary Lewis ’22 to be Honored at 60th Annual George Wah Scholar-Leader-Athlete Awards Dinner

Congratulations to Gary Lewis ’22, who will be among 20 student-athletes honored at the 60th annual George Wah Scholar-Leader-Athlete Awards Dinner on March 13. The award honors football players from a local youth league, as well as high schools and colleges, who have made an impact on the area in and out of football. The award is sponsored by the Delaware Valley Chapter of the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame.

Lawrenceville’s Head Football Coach Napoleon Sykes had the following to say about Lewis in a Trentonian article by Joe O’Gorman:

"[Gary] is a natural leader. He approaches everything with a hardhat mentality. Gary's ability to take over a game showed up immediately, but more importantly, his ability to show his teammates how to practice, how to compete, and how to be a great teammate started from the first day of preseason camp. . . . Gary has faced many challenges over the years, and he uses those experiences to fuel his desire to be successful.  He has an uncanny ability to reach people at their level. Whether he is sticking around after practice to work on things with younger players, talking with teammates how to get mentally prepared, having a positive outlook at every turn, or helping struggling teammates to ask for help in class, Gary is always standing in a place of service.''
