Greg Foster ’22 has been selected to the 2022 All-USA TODAY High School Sports Awards Boys' Track & Field Team. He is one of 24 nominees for the national All-USA TODAY Boys’ Track & Field Athlete of the Year. The winner, along with three finalists, will be revealed July 31 during an on-demand broadcast, which this year will feature top athletes in 29 boys and girls sports awards categories as well as special honors like Special Olympics Athlete of the Year, Rising Star, and Play of the Year.
Last month, Foster was selected as the 2021-22 Gatorade New Jersey Boys’ Track & Field Player of the Year. He won two national titles at the New Balance Nationals Outdoor this past season. Foster soared a state-record 51 feet, 0.75 inches to win the triple jump, which ranked as the nation’s No. 2 performance among prep competitors in 2022. He captured the long jump with a leap of 25-6.25, while also ranked No. 2 nationally and puts him at No. 2 on the all-time New Jersey list, trailing only Olympic legend Carl Lewis. This past winter, he won both the long jump and triple jump at the Nike Indoor Nationals.
Foster maintained an A average in the classroom and will compete for the Princeton University Tigers in the fall. While at Lawrenceville, he served as a captain of the outdoor track and field team. He holds seven school records - including the 55-meter dash, 55-meter hurdles, 100-meter high hurdles, long jump, and triple jump. Foster closed out his Lawrenceville career by winning the School’s Nick Gusz Best Male Athlete Award, given annually to the member of the Fifth Form class who exhibits, in two or more sports, the highest degree of leadership, sportsmanship, and skill.
