Greg Foster ’22 Wins National Titles in Long & Triple Jumps

Greg Foster ’22 leapt to two national titles last weekend! He finished first in in both the boys’ triple (51-0.75) and long jumps (25-6.25) at the New Balance Nationals Outdoor in Philadelphia. His winning long jump ranks Foster 11th in the world in the Under-20 division and fourth among Americans. (He’s just behind the legendary Carl Lewis, who holds the all-time New Jersey long jump record at 26-8.25.) In the triple jump, he now ranks 19th in the world and fifth among Americans. Foster will look to improve upon those marks at the USA Track and Field Under 20 Championships in Eugene, Ore., on June 25-26.

While at Lawrenceville, Foster served as a captain of the outdoor track and field team. He holds seven school records - including the 55-meter dash, 55-meter hurdles, 100-meter high hurdles, long jump, and triple jump. His accomplishments this past year span both the indoor and outdoor track and field seasons. He captured long jump and triple jump national titles, set the indoor triple jump record for N.J., and followed that up by winning long jump at Penn Relays. Last month, Foster won Lawrenceville’s Nick Gusz Best Male Athlete Award, given annually to the member of the Fifth Form class who exhibits, in two or more sports, the highest degree of leadership, sportsmanship, and skill. Foster will attend Princeton University in the fall.
