Josephson & Koch Selected USA Lacrosse All-Americans

Melissa Josephson and Bella Koch, both Lawrenceville Class of 2022, were selected as 2022 USA Lacrosse All-Americans. These student-athletes are players who exhibit superior skills and techniques and possesses exceptional game sense and knowledge. According to USA Lacrosse, an All-American is one of the best players in the United States, while also embodying excellent sportsmanship.

Goalie Josephson will play for the University of Virginia next year. “Her save percentage is one of the highest in New Jersey.  She commands the defense while manning her crease,” said Lisa Ewanchyna, head coach of Lawrenceville’s girls’ lacrosse team. “Mel is fearless and is an aggressive player - she is not afraid to come out of her crease to cover a player, when needed.  She anticipates well and has great game sense.”

Ewanchyna called midfielder Koch (who will compete at Bucknell next year), “a tireless workhorse.” The coach continued, “Bella can play any position on the field and was an integral part of both our attack and our defense, yet she can also play midfield.  She often will take the draw as well.”
