Lax Stars Sign NCAA National Letters of Intent

Three Lawrenceville School boys’ lacrosse players signed NCAA National Letters of Intent this morning, committing to continue their careers as student-athletes at the college level. Defenseman Conor Guiltinan '21 (Rancho Santa Fe, Calif.) will attend High Point University, midfielder/attackman Liam Sargent '21 (Manhasset, N.Y.) is heading to Lafayette College), and midfielder/attackman Jack Scoma '21 (La Jolla, Calif.) is off to Lehigh University.

Jon Posner, head coach of Lawrenceville’s boys’ lacrosse team, had the following to say about his players:

Conor Guiltinan
"The knock on west coast defensemen is generally that they tend to be athletic, but undisciplined or raw. Conor certainly checks the box for athletic ability, but he is a cerebral player that picks concepts up quickly. He has been a calming presence for our defense and has the ability to play close defense or long-stick midfield. What will endear him to [High Point University’s men’s lacrosse] Coach [Jon] Torpey and the High Point staff is that he is consistently doing the extra work before and after practice – something that has been contagious with his teammates here at Lawrenceville."

Liam Sargent
"Liam is a prototypical Long Island attackman, skilled and tough. He goes about his business unnoticed at times, save for a highlight reel goal or unselfish pass. Liam allows the game to come to him and doesn’t force decisions if they aren’t available. Lafayette is getting a skilled and savvy attackman that is just only now starting to realize his full potential."

Jack Scoma
"What stands out immediately about Jack is that he is a very skilled and athletic lacrosse player. His ability to create separation from defenders sets him apart from the bulk of players. While Jack has a great deal of flash to his game, he is equally fiery and competitive. Lehigh will be getting a very hungry two-handed player."
