A team from the Elite Hockey Academy will replace Upper Canada College in the 73rd annual Lawrenceville Invitational Boys’ Ice Hockey Tournament, the oldest prep school tournament in North America. The change is being made due to ongoing concerns over COVID-19 and international travel restrictions. Teams will face off Dec. 17-19 at the School's Loucks Ice Center (2500 Main Street, Lawrenceville, N.J.) and at the Cure Insurance Arena (81 Hamilton Avenue, Trenton, N.J.).
In order to accommodate last minute travel arrangements, start time for all Friday games has been pushed back one hour. Matches will played at 2 p.m., 4 p.m., 6 p.m., and 8 p.m. Click here for the updated schedule.
Lawrenceville will skate in this round-robin tournament against squads from Belmont Hill (Belmont, Mass.),Choate Rosemary Hall (Wallingford, Ct.), Nichols School (Buffalo, N.Y.), Northfield Mount Hermon (Gill, Mass.), Stanstead College (Quebec, Canada), Taft School (Watertown, Conn.), and the Elite Hockey Academy (Northford, Conn.).
All games are open to the public. Tickets are available at the rinks -- $10 for the entire tournament, $5 for day passes. Lawrenceville students can attend for free. All attendees must wear masks while inside either rink.
